Grants

The Trust is happy to make grants (when its resources allow) which fall within the objects of the Trust as described on the home page.

The Trust’s policy is to aim to allocate half of the funds available to overseas institutions or dioceses towards the funding of individuals sponsored by their Bishop for ministerial and ordination training; it also supports individuals in this country with grants towards the cost of attending courses or study, sabbatical leave (now called ‘extended ministerial development leave’), and short well-being breaks in association with Sarum College.

Because of our limited resources, however, we cannot support expenses incurred in obtaining further or higher degrees, or the expenses of work placements which form part of or supplement ordination training. If you are in any doubt as to whether you might qualify for a grant from the Trust, or to request a grant application form, please contact us.

Please note that a completed application form for a grant towards training or sabbatical leave must be accompanied by at least one letter of support, preferably from your bishop, archdeacon, or diocesan director of ministerial training. Applications for short well-being breaks are obtainable from Sarum College after prior consultation with the Principal, who will countersign the form. The Trustees cannot consider any applications which are unsupported.
